In the Theatre with Kevin Murphy - Zombieland - Columbia Pitcures

In grade school art class i was always told that while painting or drawing no guns, no guts no gore, If the film Zombieland came out then and every kid saw it it and got fixated on it than i think that everyone would get a zero in art class. Well i just saw Zombieland and it represents everything we cant drawn in art class and more including a big surprise from me; liking it.<Photo 1>

Zombieland takes place in an alternate reality where humans are starting to turn into Zombies simply by biting them like how Dracula confesses his love. In the end their are only four known humans who haven't been “zombified” as some would say. The group decide to travel together to survive the zombie rule.

When i first heard about this movie me and many of my friends in my broadcasting program expected it to be a horrible piece of garbage since most horror films are garbage and most comedy films that come out recently are trash; synonym: words spelt differently but have the same meaning. However when people and critics saw the film they were actually surprised they found it good including me. I personally liked this movie even though its not a very well graphed movie like the Hangover which i think is the best comedy of the year. What is really interesting about this film is its genre a comedy/horror film. Comedy and Horror are by far the two lowest rated genre's because their either too stupid, too scary, or just a repetition of a classic. I believe that the reason i liked this movie along with many others is because when you mix too bad things together they cancel each other out thus creating something that is the opposite which is good, or it could create the worst film in history. The funniest part of the movie for me was Woody Harlson and his obsession with Twinkies knowing twinks are one of two things that can survive a nuclear genocide, and will do anything to get his precious Twinkies even killing a non zombie. Although i didn't like this movie like how i loved the Hangover i liked how Zombieland didn't try to be anything more than what it was; a parody film that makes fun of classic cult horror films which is good because its very straight forward and doesn't try to over exaggerate itself. So im don't hate this movie and i don't love it its just ok, so pack your bags and take the kids to Zombieland (its best to say only twelve and up).

My Rating: 2.5/4 Shamrocks
